The old locomotive came to a stop on the outskirts of central, the rain pelted the roof of the train as if they were bullets against a tank as the train came to a screeching halt at the station. At the whistle of the train Redrick opened his eyes. Damn not a wink of sleep, the fatigue is steadily getting worse. At this rate the dream will drive me to madness if I am not able to get a few hours sleep. Redrick pulls out a cigarette and lights it with some matches. He holds his breath and tilts his hat down as he lets the smoke from the cigarette settle into his jacket and hat. after it burns out he makes sure to leave the but in the ashtray.
After leaving the station he makes his way down the back alleys, he remains ever vigilant to his environment, yet his movements are not panicked, more subtle if anything. He made his way to an ally were a drum was, someone had once lit a fire in it obviously given its inner chard condition. He took off his jacket, then his hat and gloves dumping them all into the drum. He then lit the book of matches and lit his cloths aflame.
Redrick walked to the main street and hurried into on of the many shops. The man looked up at shivering Redrick and said "Ye must have been out their for hours, lad i suggest you take one of these coats." Redrick nodded as he put down 5 pounds and put on the rain coat hastily. Redrick started to walk out as the man with the thick red beard said " boy, you over paid. Don't ye want your change?" Redrick continued on hoping that with all of his precautions no pedestrians noticed, and he would lose whoever was following him.
He made his way to a cafe, were he continued to keep an eye out for anyone suspicious. A young Brunet waitress walked over and smiled at him as she said "Can I take your order?" Hmm, petite body, slightly more tone then most, Deep brown eyes, slight tan, most likely was born in a desert town, and moved here some time ago. Redrick looked up at her apathetically "I would like a cappuccino, with a shot of black coffee mixed with the cream." She looked confused at Redrick, as if she did not quite expect that. Though she quickly jotted it down in the pad she pulled out and ran off. Redrick then turned his gaze back out to the rain. This place... so different from what I remember, yet I am sure there is now even more to learn and experience here. I wounder what will it be to catch my eye first. Redrick yawns, and rubs his eyes; damn I am to tired. I haven't even made sure I wasn't being fallowed, I cant head back to the manor yet. Maybe I can find someplace more interesting to sleep and at the same time ensure my endeavors are not being monitored. Redrick's gaze turned less intense and more to boredom, but he himself became ever more vigilant looking for an opportunity for anything to start.

(just to let you know, the currency in Amestres is cens. So in this case, you spent about 50 cens on that jacket ) Ayumi ran through the rain, trying hard not to shriek as the hard drops pelted her, bouncing off the back of her military uniform. It was made of a sturdy-enough fabric that she wasn't freezing in the cold November weather, but she didn't like the looks people gave her when they saw a soldier dash past their shops. Finally spotting a cafe that didn't look crowded, she ducked into it and groaned, shaking rain out of her hair. Peeling off her jacket, she wrapped it around her waist, revealing her shrunken black military-issued shirt. She could feel the cold glances collecting at the back of her head and tried to ignore them as she made her way to the back of the cafe, sitting by herself in one of the back corner seats. Taking out a piece of paper and a pen, she scratched a messy transmutation circle onto it before pressing it against her body. As it glowed with energy, her soaked clothes instantly dried, making steam billow out in thick clouds around her. Crumbling the paper, she tossed it onto the chair next to her and waited for some service.

She caught Redrick's eye before she even reached the cafe, her uniform was a dead give away she worked for the military. Yet she was so different from other ones. She had a dark tan skin, her eyes a bright and deep violet. She was soaked but she didn't seem to mind to much, she didn't even bother to ring her hair.
The eyes of the cafe were eying her darkly as she took off her jacket. Redrick diverted his eyes away from her torso and directed them to her face. He could not help but notice that she was wearing a revealing black shirt. She is obviously has to be Ishvalan, an alchemist as well, interesting. Rather good form of alchemy as well, maybe she could show me a few things before I take my exams. Redrick looks to the crowd of people slowly growing in hate then back to her. Well that is if she can get out of here alive. Redrick puts 15 cens on the table as the waitress came over.
She seemed to be nervous and if not somewhat angry at the state alchemist across from Redrick. This is going to get interesting, I wounder if the Alchemist will need aid? If the crowd gets any more angsty we will have a problem. Redrick nodded to the waitress in a calming manner as he watched the scenario unfold. He continues to sip his cappuccino watching this conflict unfold. Maybe she will notice hat someone in the crowd is not hating her, maybe I could peak her interest as she did to me.

She could hear mutters around her, insults buzzing in her ears. She tried to ignore them, focusing her thoughts on alchemic equations, trying to remember the exact order of the astronomical runes that made up biological transmutation, as she was studying it for her next research project.
"Military bitch," someone said in a particularly loud voice.
That's it. Slamming her hands down on the table, she jumped to her feet and glared in the direction of the voice. "You got something to say to me?!" she demanded.
No one answered her, an ominous silence stealing away the air. Narrowing her eyes, she slowly sat back down and tried to jerked her hand over to the waitress, calling her over.

Redrick watched as the crowd roared and profanity was thrown around as if it was a ball in a childcare's game. Redrick watched the anger grow within the alchemist when finally one of the comments set her off. And like a Phoenix she rose and let loos her furry.
Redrick smiled silently to himself as the crowd crept back into the shadow's of the cafe. How droll, not even a riot, well it certainly did explain something though. This girl has a presence around her, one that definitely commands fear on a high level.
Redrick Picked himself up and walked over slowly, he put his jacket on the chair across from her. there he sat across from her in his rather damp black doctors coat. he did not even bother looking at her eyes, not even her pretty face. Now he entirely concentrated on keeping eye contact. Now comes my challenge, not to stir the beast. While at the same time getting close to it. He shut his eyes for a moment as he leaned back in the chair. "And I thought people were supposed to respect those with knowledge and rank. Guess times have really changed eh?" Redrick opened his eyes in a nonviolent, and warm way.

Ayumi's eyebrows raised a little bit as Redrick took a seat across from her. Blinking her strange colored eyes, a small smile touched her lips as she looked at him. Cute, very cute. Leaning forward, she rested her head on a lightly scarred hand and smirked at him, studying his features. He had eyes that reminded her of her cousin, the way the colors changed near the pupils. She wondered if he'd ever been tormented the way she was about it. "You sayin' you respect me?" she asked.
A waitress approached the table, her eyes dark with fear and anger. She set a glass of water on the table.
"Finally," Ayumi muttered, turning towards her, about to tell her her order.
"...murderer." The waitress said in a low shaking voice, than turned and walked away.
"..." Her eyebrows knit together and her jaw tightened. Her eyes flickered towards Redrick than down at the table. She was trying to pretend that her words didn't bother her. Poking at the glass, she lifted it up and took a sip. "Fuckin' bitch."

She seemed to eye Redrick for a moment, he acted like he did not notice. Endearing if anything, and I think I do respect her. He watched the outburst of the waitress and shook his head. "So are you always this popular or are they especially happy to see you. Oh and to answer your question, yeah I do respect you." He turned his head to the smoldering crowd, they seemed so wrapped in hatred, but still held back by fear. Figures not a risk to be taken, what is to be gained from that.
He looked over the woman's shoulder noticing the faces growing in violence once more. Redrick stared at them with a look that could kill a man if he stepped to close. They eye him and begin to simmer down once more. He turns and smirks at her "regardless of the trash behind you, I was hoping that I may ask you a few questions." His demeanor returned to his warm gentlemen stare, still making sure to keep eye contact, less he loses his edge. He sips his cappuccino and look's around occasionally to make sure he sees every face in the crowd. 12, that will be a problem if this does turn into a mob, they will double in # at least once after it starts. Yet I cannot lose my edge in this conflict, and I wont. His look becomes more intense til he meets her violet gaze with his own, and continues his warm demeanor.

She kept his gaze pretty easily, her head tilted to the side, her expression questioning. An ice cube slipped into her mouth and she crunched on it hard and let the shards slip between her lips and back into into the glass.
"You get used to it," she muttered. At this point, she had so much pent up anger inside her, she dared one of them to come at her, just so that she could release her frustrations.
"But sure, ask away."

He continued to sip his cappuccino, letting the foam run over his tongue. It was refreshing, it seemed to negate the withering fatigue.
"So you must be a state alchemist, look I haven't been to central in a long time." He leans in close and whispers, "and I need to know how the state alchemist exam goes down." He leans away and stretches, "apologies about that, but I do hate it when trash find more reasons to start. I would love a tip from someone in my future field." He looks again to the crowd as he sips his cappuccino. Great this is not getting any better, the probability of them is low. Yet somehow I know I shouldn't take the chance.

Ayumi took a straw and poked it into her drink, starting to stir it gently. She watched the ice cubes swirl around in their glass, clicking as they slowly released their heat into the water. Then she reached down and unhooked her state alchemist watch, placing it on the table between them. She stared at the emblem imprinted on it for a few moments.
"The exam changes every year, so I can't tell you much," she started in a slow voice, almost as if she was mesmerized by the pattern. She looked up at him. "But usually it's a written exam, followed by a physical, and then a battle of sorts, to show off your alchemy. They want more 'weapons of war'," she said, her last words bitter.

Redrick watched her carefully, she seemed scarred by something. As if a sadness had consumed her entirely. Shame, she really has been through allot in this line of work.Redrick placed his cappuccino on his saucer and looked into what was left. A cup half empty, or half full... He looks up at her "weapons of war... I am going to need all the help I can get then."
He looks back into his cup as if recalling a few memories. "I am a medical alchemist, tissue and blood manipulation and what not. Though I am decent with metal, but I am hardly a weapon of war." Redrick sighs and shrugs his shoulders "then I will need to become one to further my research. Any ideas on were I can get a start on this?" Redrick looked up at the sad beauty before him, truly captivated by her demeanor.

Ayumi exhaled and snatched her watch back, shoving it angrily into her pocket. "I can help. But we can't talk about it here." She stood up, dropping a few coins on the table for her drink and stomped towards the exit.
Seeing their chance, a big meaty-looking man followed her, immediately stepping in front of the door. His friends appeared behind her, cracking their knuckles as they glared down at her.
"Where do you think your going?" the first man said.
"Get out of the way," she growled. "I don't want to hurt you."
The man laughed, then grabbed her by the shoulder. "Fuckin' cunt-"
A spark of transmutation energy cut through the air between them. The man stepped back, startled for a moment. "What the-"
"What are you, scared?" she taunted, her eyes blazing with anger. "C'mon, do it, faggot. Hit me."
"Why you-!"

He looked upon the strong burly man and sighed. Great, this is going to get ugly... Redrick reaches his hand inside his jacket, making sure to keep his hand concealed he unlatches and grips the pistol in its holster. I may not be much of a fighter, but I know how to survive in unfair situations.
Redricks eyes grow cold as he eyes the giant of a man and the mob forming behind them. "Bitch, CUNT, COCK SUCKING WHORE" the crowd shouted angrily. The man continued to mock the woman, though seemed hesitant as her dominance rose with a spark of alchemical energy. I wounder how that energy works, I saw nothing transmuted on her. Yet I know that was transmutation energy, I wounder what formula is she using to do that?
Redrick took in a deep breath stepping beside the girl, Redrick pulled up his black leather duffel bag with one hand and pulled a gun out with the other. The giant man laughed " look, the little shit want's to protect the bitch, WHY YOU LIKE YOUR PUSSY DAR..." The mans voice cut short from the sound of Redrick cocking his pistol. The man dark sadistic gaze fell upon Redrick "What you are going to shoot me... Oh come on, even if you do your only throwing away your own life." Redrick smirked as a sadistic look took over his face "Oh really..." Redrick pointed the pistol at his duffel bag "Fun perks about being a doctor isn't saving people, it is knowing how to exterminate them." Redrick eyes no longer fixated on the man, but more turned to the crowd in general as they all fell silent in disbelief and confusion. "In this small unassuming duffel bag are vials of a powerful Nero toxin that attacks the nervous and cardiac system. For those of you to dumb to know what that means, it means if I shoot this case every human being that is not vaccinated will die in a 2.5 mile radius. Unfortunately I am the only one vaccinated for this so I will have the pleasure of watching you all seizure on the ground and die." Redrick backed up slightly towards the girl as the man stumbled back to he now horrified crowed. "Your fucking insane, YOU'D KILL US ALL!" Redrick tilted his head to the side as if a serial killer "Now I expect me and my associate will leave without any problems." Redrick begins backing up even more making sure not to take his eyes off the crowd. Wow... I cant believe they actually bought it, well I hope it lasts we going to need all the time we can get. Boy do I owe an explanation to this state alchemist once were out of here.

Ayumi watched with her eyebrows slightly raised, trying not to look as shocked as she felt. In a way she was angry, she could've handled the situation fine by herself, but she was impressed. Her eyes sweeping across the crowd's for any sign of resistance, she nodded at Redrick and opened the door to leave.
"Bastard can't always protect you." A voice said from somewhere within the crowd. "You'll get what's coming to you."
She hesitated for a split second, than pushed the door open and slipping out, not waiting for Redrick to follow.
The rain had stopped by now, a cold chill in the air from the passing winds. She stepped out into the street, digging her hands into her pockets, letting the cold sink into her and erase her thoughts.

Redrick followed her out quickly, the rain had stopped though the cold still stung his hands. Damn, that wasn't even necessary... yet those fools are brutish and disgusting to anyone who is different from them, if it wasn't her it was going to be me.
Redrick sighs, as he rounds the corners and follows the girl "I just had to lie through my teeth like never before and nearly got mobbed over it. We don't even know each others names..." Redrick couldn't find the words as he looked at her, she was a great tiger with a wounded spirit.
He walks up beside her and looks down "look you don't have to show me anything if you don't want to. I mean do you really thing their is a snow balls chance in hell that I could make it the through the exams." Redrick trying to tack her mind off the hatred that was thrust-ed upon shoulders. Just as Atlas must bear the world on his back, so must she bear prejudice and hatred. Redrick looked up at her once more and sigh's "By the way you can call me Dr. Redrick."
